Class action lawsuit against ebay? Lots of tiny amounts might not be worth it for individuals, but as a group its probably millions stolen

The worst thing is that if the AI detecting "suspicious activity" feeds back these false positive cases into it's model without manual human correction, it will just get worse and worse over time.

 Every platform works this way.
"Follow our rules!"
Okay
"You broke the rules!"
What did I do?!
"We won't tell you! Read the rules!"
Okay, that didn't clarify anything.
crickets

The only risky activity you did on ebay is being a legit, honest seller. You have to be a scammer to continue operating on ebay. Thats why you were perma banned.

So ebay literally just stole from you. Shocking, I had considered selling some items on ebay, but I think I'll just use Craigslist after seeing this. Thanks for the video upload.

Ebay has done some things that are surprisingly shady even for a big coroporation - like mafia-level shady.

A few years ago, several executives and high-level employees were implicated in a scandal of harassing and making death threats to journalists who were negatively reporting on the company. A couple of them went to prison.

Buyers worry about being scammed by the seller, but the sellers need to worry about being scammed by eBay.

Last year, I sold a few PS5 controllers that I personally refurbished. I installed Hall Effect sticks and carefully calibrated each one. I’ve been doing this kind of work for over a decade, and I thoroughly test every controller or console I work on. I've never had any complaints—until I sold three of them on eBay.

With each of those sales, the buyers complained that something wasn’t working, which I find extremely unlikely given my process. The first buyer returned the controller, but he had already opened it and all the screws were missing. The other two cases ended with partial refunds, just so I could put the whole ordeal behind me.

Lesson learned: I won’t be selling on eBay again.

This is a pretty good representation of how the world is going to look like under the rule of AI overlords.Forget Matrix. This is the true Cyberpunk dystopia and we are living it right now.

Any company where you don't have the option to talk to a human being should be boycotted

I've recently had the audio PCBs & modules I sell hidden/de-listed on ebay due to their updated interpretation of the "No selling off ebay" rules.
I include links to my own web site project pages to allow people to study the parts lists and assembly info - and the link back to the item for sale on ebay. They have now decided that is not allowed.
I had never sold any of these other than on ebay, but the only way now to list them with all the required technical info is to set up my own web shop and sell directly, instead of via ebay.
It's crazy that their paranoia about people possibly selling outside ebay forces selling outside ebay!
