I spent 27 years in the military. We have more flag and general officers on active duty today than we did at the peak of world war two. Today's military is extremely top heavy. A twenty percent reduction in flag and general officers is a good start, and it will not impact the combat mission capabilities of the armed forces of the united states in any way.

Most of those who spent time in the military would support removing half of the flag officers. It's as political a position to get to as anything on the civilian side. Plenty used military aviation assets to get to a golf course, a dinner (none of this legal mind you) and never see a slap on the wrist while the Joe's in the barracks are living with black mold. Don't lament less of these GOs, should have happened decades ago.

I do think a lot of people complaining about this never served or worked in the DoD. He isn't crazy, people have been complaining for years about senior leadership being too political and not caring about soldiers/warfighting. You don't have too like him or even agree but you should at least understand that this isn't falling out of the sky.
