The Def Jam games were like hybrid wrestling/street fighting games that had several popular rappers as playable characters including many from the Def Jam record label! Def Jam Vendetta was even my first exposure to Method Man and Redman! :_miyaHeart::_miyaPat:

Def Jam was not just largest recorded company these rappers had so much inseparable knowledge and experience, most of those raps songs even inspired from injustice, family, murder, love, losing a friend you grew up, ghetto neighborhood, power, money, Asian culture, latino culture, and most of all KUNG- FU AND MARTAL ARTS!! ❤❤❤

The cam movement and moves would make this a great indie title today, this aged really well!

This game is a mix of wrestling but with a sprinkle of tekken (ig) and those moves you saw are their ultimate, there's another bar on the bottom of the hp bar it's called the blaze meter when that max out you can ult your opponent and do those fancy moves...some of the stage has a special mechanic like the crowd can give you weapons and hold your opponent, or the subway station where you can kick you opponent and throw them on to the train track and get killed and so much more. Yes all of the characters name are their real rappers irl names Xzibit, Ludacris, Sean paul, even the ladies are real music artists, this game is brutal and the fighting mechanic is used in a yakuza underated spinoff Kurohyou.

I played this game as a kid. I used to listen to all of these guys. These were my heroes. Blaze is Method Man (one his aliases is actually John Blaze). Crack is Fat Joe (one of his aliases is Joey Crack). Doc is Redman (one of his aliases is Funk Doc). Ludacris was my favorite rapper when I was 13.
