As a son, grandson, nephew and cousin of sincere and faithful Baptist Pastors and having become Catholic myself, I remember trying to understand why there were  so many divisions among Baptists...

Recent Catholic-revert here, I love my  “Protestant brothers and sisters” but I started questioning that view after the Rapture made no sense to me. 6 years later, it all unwound to the same  points you just unpacked here… now me, my wife and 2 amazing daughters have came home. I can’t rag the Protestants cause I don’t know if I would have met Jesus without that path in my life… but I have come to the realization that view of Christianity is very self reliant… something I’ve always needed release from.

Wow, this is such a great message. I grew up Protestant (fundamentalist) and became Catholic at the age of 37, which was 20 years ago. I love my faith, I love the church, and am so thankful to God for leading me to the one, true church.

Joe heshmeyer calls this phenomenon, going through all the doctrines to find the right church, self-shepherding sheep.

I am a Protestant who will go for my first confession this life. I agree much with your arguments.

My brother in Christ, when I saw this video I was struck with the truth: it is not up to us to interpret scripture or have Doctrine be at the mercy of our intellect.  Christ didn’t leave us a book, he left us a church to teach us how to follow him.  I was raised as a Jehovahs Witness, and I’m making this journey into the Catholic Church.  Please pray for me.

Dumb maxing is true spiritual maturity. Being too high minded keeps you stuck in the brain and stops your heart from growing with love for God.
