i agree with the consensus; the set is super cool but gives a formal “we’re SUPPOSED to sit here and talk” vibe and not the “cousins hanging out in the basement” vibe, and i think a table would help bring that natural informality.

Not only are they too far apart, everything feels too distant. They're leaning back in the armchairs too, and the wide shot feels so far. I can't even appreciate the funny portraits in the background.<br>And this means one of my favourite bits can't happen again where Shayne leaves the frame because he's laughing so hard and you see the pool tombstone

I think the lack of table is not really the problem. It's that they are so far away from each other, AND the chairs just make them lean farther back. The temporary set you were using didn't have a table but had the chairs closer together so it felt cozier
