  The crazy thing about Adam Malkovich was he started as a mention in Fusion, but the one in Other M does not line up at all with what little we knew about him from Fusion&apos;s mention.

  I love how they felt the need to make Other M to make Samus more humane, as if sparing the life of a newborn baby in Metroid 2 didn&apos;t already comunicate how empathetic and kind hearted she was.

  You gotta love that in the English version of Other M, Adam &quot;Allows&quot; to enable her Varia Suit feature beause he&apos;s the one calling the shots.<br>But in the Japanese Version he&apos;s pratically BEGGING her to stop being stubborn and activate the feature that IS ESSENTIAL to her survival.<br><br>The different there is that, in the English you see a Samus Aran that feels hurt, but overall accepts the orders and becomes a puppet until he says so she won&apos;t do otherwise.<br>While in Japanese, while she accepted the terms of letting him be in charge, she&apos;s upset about him treating her like an outsider, so she stubbornly doesn&apos;t activate the feature. Not because she was not ordered to activate it, but because she literally wants to stand a point: &quot;O yeah, you wanna call the shots, so you&apos;re gonna HAVE to call the shots&quot;, and the way he desperatelly says &quot;girl for the love of GOD stop taking damage and turn that shit on already&quot; shows that he knows exactly &nbsp;WHY she&apos;s behaving like that. <br><br>She says that when she was young, she was stubborn, and would go against him sometimes. This is exactly that: They know each other for a long time to have mutual respect for each other. They know each other to know that he doesn&apos;t need to give an order for her to enable a life-protection feature on a life-threatening situation, but since he instantly call that she&apos;s both and Outsider and that He&apos;s the one in charge, this is her way of showing she&apos;s hurt and pissed at him without saying it out loud; It&apos;s her way of rebelling. <br><br>And frankly the whole context of the interaction changes a lot, because again, she proves a point in Japanese, while in English she&apos;s just being passive. And I think that&apos;s where Other M miss the mark: Voice Direction. Not Voice Acting, but Voice Direction. If the dub is badly directed, you get situations like Vanille in Final Fantasy XIII. The Samus Adapted in English is not the &nbsp;Samus in Japanese, even if the whole gameplay is the same And the whole fiasco with Ridley still happens, I find it very interesting how some small changes in personallity that happens through voice clips only changes your perspective on a game. One of the biggest comlpains of people is the fact that Smaus goes through rooms and rooms being hurt by fire and only does Varia Suit once Adam allows it, while it makes no sense, when in Japanese, it&apos;s clear that the intention of his orders is for her to NOT user her weapons without his orders to avoid unecessary damage to the dropship, but she takes that ltierally to show him he&apos;s being a dumbass to her. <br><br>Again: the worst part of this game is that the dub is awful. If the direction was better they would have been able to give a game 90% better. Even if by a little.

  Something I enjoy about the Metroid series is how it&apos;s become a playground for all kinds of sci-fi ideas.<br>Metroids and the series is heavily inspired by the Alien franchise<br>The X are inspired from &quot;The Thing&quot;<br>The EMMI&apos;s are a based on the AMEE&apos;s from Red Planet film<br>The Adam AI is probably inspired by the HAL 9000 from 2001: A Space Odyssey... The list goes on. <br><br>I can&apos;t wait to see what else Samus will face off or ally with in future adventures.

  In defense of her PTSD when seeing Ridley, I can believe a stronger panic attack when you had definitive proof that he was dead and not returning. If she had a suspicion that he survived and escaped Zebes, then i can see her expecting him, and responding more appropriately

  A couple neat things from Dread you left out. First, Gray Voice and Old Bird are actually in the background of the DNA flashback. &nbsp;Second, in retrospect you can tell Raven Beak has been impersonating Adam all game because he never calls her “Lady” like Adam does. Adam also tells her as she descends in the e elevator that their communication connection is weak.
