  its sad how every time we see the dev timeline of any pokemon game you can see how they start off with high hopes and ambitions and then get shot down by restraints

  Haven't watched it in full yet, but the fact that IRIDA of all characters is the one being used as a placeholder model is very entertaining to me. Same energy as "Why is there a polar bear in arlington texas"

  I love how the documentation sounded like a diary, as if the dev was actually living in this test build.<br>And it makes me even more disappointed that some of these mechanics did not make it into the version we know today.

  the buildings being downgraded just 2 months after scarlet and violet released is pretty telling. definitely seems like an immediate reaction to all the criticism about the performance problems

  It’s weirdly heartbreaking watching this, seeing the dev’s legitimate pride in their craft with the Pokémon’s abilities and the Gogoat riding as they’re all tossed aside to meet a deadline and performance threshold. Replacing all those ornate buildings with flat posterboards must have felt PAINFUL. <br><br>Since this is seemingly made in Unity, I wonder if somebody will take a crack at realizing this old ZA. You can certainly keep both performance and detailed infrastructure with some normal mapping, for example.

  I love the personality in the notes because what do you mean Talonflame is happy with the change? “As someone whose frontal lobe is made up of the CPU of a Super Nintendo”???? It’s so funny and so cute 😭

  Honestly, I wanna give the dev a big hug. They clearly poured their heart and soul into this game, and for what it was there was a surprising amount of good in the final product, despite limitations and even if some things like the lack of 3D building textures is a huge bummer.

  Personally, I had fun with z-a, but I constantly felt like there were so many fronts on which it could be so much better. This pretty much confirms that feeling for me
