The flooding situation at Khlong Chan flats in Bang Kapi remains critical, as water levels continue to rise and aid has yet to reach many areas. Water levels at Khlong Chan flats remain high, reaching up to car roofs, and show no sign of receding. Compounding the problem, intermittent rain fell throughout the night, and some areas experienced power outages, leaving hundreds of residents in darkness. Last night, the marine police used flat-bottomed boats to deliver food, water, and evacuate residents in need. This morning, some people needing to go to work had to wade through the floodwaters and change clothes elsewhere. Our news team met Khun Kwan, a 31-year-old bartender from the Sukhumvit area, who is acting as a good Samaritan. He's using his dirt bike to ride his motorbike through the floodwaters, providing free rides for residents needing to leave or deliver essential items. This morning, he offered free transportation to those needing to go to work. Khun Kwan said he didn't expect much from the service; he just thought his motorbike could handle the flood and be useful to those in need. He started offering his free service around midnight last night. A sign was displayed behind the person carrying the person, reading "Free pick-up and drop-off, Seri Thai, Ramkhamhaeng, Ladprao areas. Water is below waist level." In addition, the news team spoke with Ms. Usa Maneedang, a resident of Sri Burapha Village, who waded through floodwaters over 1 meter high to buy food. She said her house has been flooded for three days, and the water level has only increased. She said no government agency has come to help or distribute relief supplies. Yesterday, she only received instant noodles and a little water from a rescue vehicle. Therefore, she had to go out and buy things herself today. Her electricity has been cut off since Friday, but thankfully she still has tap water. She urgently wants government agencies to provide assistance, especially with the distribution of relief supplies. Meanwhile, external assistance today includes soldiers from the 52nd Engineer Battalion, 1st Engineer Regiment, Royal Guard, who brought boats to distribute food and water and evacuate the sick. Many private organizations have also set up relief centers outside and are trying to distribute water and food inside, but the large area and numerous buildings make it difficult to reach them. This might mean that assistance hasn't reached 100% of the affected areas yet.
