As a Turk, I respect Arshile Gorky a lot. Just like any past and present artist, he deserves a praise.

I studied with a pupil of Arshile Gorky who worked at his studio in New York....Will always remember: The last Statement on a long banner across the studio: "Goodby my Beloveds.." Arshile Gorky passed by suicide. But recollections of stories of Gorky and his art...beyond description...a kind, lonely man...

This is an amazing story. Mostly untold in the art history lectures. The most telling part at first watching was the bit about the farmer cutting the grass. "it broke his heart, he was slugged again." This is an artist. The intensity of experience- of interaction is complex and mostly unfathomable. "Slugged again." Few of us even know what that must mean and yet- it is the province of most artists.<br>Thank you for this documentary.

I was very fortunate to learn about Ashile Gorky in my very first art class; the professor liked my work, and said it reminded him of Gorky; I love his work still, more than 50 years later. An absolute un-compromised genius. Thanks for the insight on his relationships to other artists, deKooning in particular .. Many Thanks
