I saw a filipino vlogger living in Greenland. They celebrated New year the same way as the Philippines. They light up the sky as well with fireworks.

Our friends is a war veteran from Iraq and Afghanistan. We invited our friends to celebrate New Year in the Philippines a couple of years ago. He said that the fireworks blast around Manila gave him goose bumps from the war he went through. He couldn't sleep for many nights but not from the psychological trauma instead with joy and happiness that he experienced from welcoming Pilipino celebrating New Year there!!

Manila is like a warzone. The best new year celebration. I think the best place is at the roof garden where you can see 360 degrees view of the entire city with it's fireworks.
