That’s why i deleted all my accounts. The music i make ain’t really meant to be pushed like an ad and seeing whats hot to the world never really influenced me to be the same. I create from the heart and ion think that’s ever gonna change but trying to keep up with “the algorithm” ruins MY algorhythm. Hone your art and make your best work before you dilute your potential for a world that will blame you for it in the end

the point about protecting mystique instead of chasing a viral spike hits, i've watched artist friends burn out doing that exact thing. i started poking around pophatch for the real fan data side of things, way more useful than just watching a view count spike and disappear.

Personally, as a musician, my main goal is achieving my own fascination again. And working it outwards from there. I don't know much about the business, but I do music made when the maker isn't fascinated by the process sucks.
