20年懸案告破！新亭洞連環凶殺案真凶竟早已身亡【X檔案員】

In 2005, two female corpses were found within five months in Sindjeong-dong, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul. The victims, one in her 20s and the other in her 40s, were strangled, their heads covered with black plastic bags, and their bodies wrapped in rice sacks or mats before being dumped in a residential alley. Police formed a large task force, distributed thousands of wanted posters, and searched surrounding hospitals and construction sites, but were unable to find the killer. The case was officially declared a cold case in 2013 and later became one of the real-life inspirations for the Korean drama *Signal*. In 2016, police reopened the investigation, commissioning the National Forensic Service to re-examine the victims' underwear and binding ropes. They successfully extracted matching DNA, confirming that the two cases were committed by the same person, providing a breakthrough. The investigation team scoured over 230,000 people who might have entered or left Sinjeong-dong, and compared the DNA of more than 1,500 suspects without success. Finally, they expanded their search to include deceased individuals, miraculously finding a DNA sample from a building manager, Zhang, in over 40 hospitals. This sample confirmed that Zhang's DNA perfectly matched the evidence found in the crime scene. Zhang was imprisoned for another sexual assault case after committing the crime and died of cancer in 2015. Therefore, the case was closed without prosecution, but the police still announced that the "real killer had been identified," finally providing answers for the victim's family and the special task force members who had been investigating for twenty years. This film will take you back through the timeline of the two murders, from the body found in the alleys of Sinjeong-dong to how forensic science uncovered crucial clues from the "cremated killer," revealing this serial murder case that had remained unsolved for twenty years. 🔍 SEO Hashtags: #SinnjeongdongSerialMurderCase #SinnjeongdongSerialRapeAndCorpseAbandonmentCase #20YearOldColdCaseSolved #DNAForensicsSolveTheCase #RealLifeInspirationForKoreanDramaSignal #TrueStory #MysteryAndFiction #StrangeStories #TheX-Files
