I just watched it at the New Zealand film festival. It simply took my breath away. Performances are the strongest I've seen in a long time.

I strongly recommend Paquitas Salas on Netflix. It was my first approach to Los Javis and it has been one of my favorite series ever. The first episodes in the first season are funny and sad - in a very strange way- but then everything goes wild and deep. The next two seasons are a crescendo of a TV drama, plenty of references, sarcasm, excess and shady (lovely) characters.

I'm Spanish so I'm incredibly excited for this movie. Los Javis are quite famous here, having done another great film and a few beloved series. I feel like everyone is saying such nice thing about it that I'm scared of being underwhelmed when I finally get to watch it. Loved the review, happy pride!

Brian you neeeeeeeeed to watch Veneno. It's not a ton of episodes, and boy does it pack a f*cking punch. Imho, one of very best limited series ever made.

The structure of this story is exactly the same as it was in THE HOURS 2002, and just like it worked there it works in this movie too.
