Listening to this in 2023 , i would surely be excused for thinking they were talking about the Biden administration. 😅

My no.2 after Document? Kind of an intro to them as popular figures beyond 'college radio' or underground kind of cool. Made them the pop sensation they still are, gonna go with that

It’s a bit tragic this constant disparaging of Shiny Happy People - happy songs aren’t easy to do well, unlike melancholy, and to perfect it like that is a gift. Embrace it

Listening during 2nd (!!!??) administration discussed hoping ever more deeply for a return to the estimation of the Middle Class which is being actively galvanized by the current, lawless oligarchy.

🙏 🇺🇸 🌎

Out of Time was the album that got me. Worst album art ever though - shocking. I miss REM so much too, but I hope they never reform, and break the spell. I love Michael's big beard years.

19:12 nice West Wing quote. Fascinating that Mike goes on to talk about the band in the present tense.

I love R.E.M. But disagree with them completely on political terms. With that being said, why do Anti Trumpers always speak like most people dont agree with him? He won for a reason
