  When I worked at Mcdonalds in the 60&apos;s you could get 10 cheese burgers for the price of one today. You could get a 5 dollar BigMac for 59 cents. This was back when the American dream still existed.

  The first time I went to a bonanza was a 1984 in West Haven Connecticut. When I was in Presque Isle Maine in 2011 I stumbled Upon A Bonanza and I was so excited! In 2018 I saw a bonanza in St Cloud Minnesota and that was the last of them.

  I worked at a big boy restaurant in 1985. It was in Clearfield Utah. I lived 6 miles away in Roy Utah and had to walk every day. My aunt worked in Clearfield but she wouldn’t get up until it’s time for her to go to work she was late every day that she worked for job service. She worked there 30 years and almost every day she was late to work, but they never fired her because she was a good employee, but she never advanced. She was there 30 years and when she left, she was only making $11 and something an hour she could’ve been making 20 or 25 had she taking a few more classes and had she not had so many gigs in her file about being late to work, but she would never give me a ride because she didn’t want to get up that early. I had to be to work before seven so I had to get up and leave and walk 6 miles to work every day and then walk 6 miles home after working a dayshift. I worked five and six days a week. I walked in rain. I walked in the heat. I walked in the cold I walked in a blizzard. We had 3 feet of snow on the ground, and the snow is blowing so hard by the time I got there, I looked like a snowman and in Utah backed in people didn’t stop and ride they were very rude people out there The only time I got a ride in the bad weather was a ride home. I walked there in a blizzard and worked all day and one of the people I worked with said I’ll give you a ride home because it had snowed all day and it and it was still snowing when I got off of work and he got off at the same time so he gave me a ride home.

  I live in Columbus, Ohio. There&apos;s one York steakhouse left. In Columbus, on West Broad Street. I lived across from the York Steakhouse in an apartment building for about eight years. My husband liked to go there for nostalgia and we went a few times. It was OK. I wouldn&apos;t write home about it, but I wasn&apos;t disappointed.

  I&apos;m 76 but when I was in my early 20s my sister and I hitchhiked to California (from Pa), and stopped at a Howard Johnson&apos;s at a truck stop. I will never forget the Peppermint Stick ice cream cone I had. It&apos;s still the best flavor I&apos;ve ever eaten, and that&apos;s in spite of the fact that I&apos;ve had every flavor of Haagen Dazs they&apos;ve ever created.

  The last Sambos we dined in way back in the early 1980s was in Joliet Illinois around &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; U.S.52 ( Jefferson Street) &amp; Larkin Street

  I do miss some of these old memories from the 60&apos;s and 70&apos;s. Now old with many of the family and friends passed away, I find myself wishing for those simpler and cheaper times. Rarely do I eat out any more. With prices at insane levels and living on Social Security, much of today&apos;s fast food and chain restaurants are poor quality and often even poorer service from today&apos;s youth.

  I live 2 minutes away from a Roy Rogers in Pine Beach, NJ. It never shuttered or closed down. It’s been Roy’s since the 80’s. It never left to begin with.
