  I&apos;ve gone from feeling quite bad for Mike to finding him to be exceptionally manipulative and a gaslighter. The fact he holds his financial contributions over her and tells her she&apos;s losing the best thing (not even man) to ever happen in her life, shows who he truly is - the classic &apos;nice guy&apos;. He tries to pull her towards him through offering &apos;security&apos;, i.e. a cage, and she is rightfully pushing back.

  Mike&apos;s hostility and entitlement is a potentially deadly combo. He&apos;s throwing up so many warning signs for intimate partner violence that I&apos;m legitimately concerned for Ximena and her kids. He seems like the type of person who could easily become obsessed with &quot;revenge&quot; when he doesn&apos;t get his way

  He made her quit her job, then abuses the fact she doesnt have money anymore due to him telling her she needs to quit or he&apos;ll leave. Then when she says to leave he stays in her home... Where not only she is but her children..... and runs around as if he wants to punch something, what a great dude. and after all that the show puts some &apos;&apos;happy hopeful&apos;&apos; music when he talks? Im sorry, she isnt the villain here, he is. She&apos;s not perfect but literally without those cameras I think he wouldve threatened her physically or just treat her much much worse.

  Mike is the personification of the &quot;nice guy&quot; meme. He wants to be seen as a generous and loving (by his standards), but comes out as controlling, creepy and annoying. The second anything doesn&apos;t go his way, his shitty nature takes over.
