  My grandfather's property in  Philadelphia  was searched 2 times.  Very sad times. My grandfather was a foreman at a furniture plant in Canton.  The clan tried to get him to allow them to come to the plant one night and hollow out table legs to be filled with lead so they could be used as home made Billy clubs.  He refused which put him and the family in a very dangerous position, but he stood his ground, keeping his faith in God and humanity.  So proud to have this legacy.

  I&apos;m an Asian guy born and raised here in Hawaii. &nbsp;My father attended the University of Boulder in the early 60&apos;s during which segregation was still high against black people;-he was even beaten by a cop for defending his friend who was black, besides being Asian himself. &nbsp;&quot;THANK YOU&quot; and, &quot;I LOVE YOU&quot; DAD for instilling in me NOT to pre-judge people because of their skin color which comes down to &quot;HATRED&quot;-

  I watched the movie “Mississippi Burning” when I was young. I remember how horrified I was to find out it was a true story.

  Andrew Goodman had gone to Cornell University. His classmates funded a stained glass window in Sage Chapel to memorialize Goodman, Schwerner, and Cheney. It&apos;s beautiful. &nbsp;When President Obama was elected, I went there and lit a candle for them.

  My father, who was a line chief @ the Navy base in Meridian @ the time, led a team of sailors searching for the three.

  I was born and raised in the Meridian area, and my mom and her family were raised in the city limits of Meridian. They knew James Chaney and his family, and she would tell me stories of how they searched for the 3 men and the trials. Truly a sad time.
