  This feels like the point I’m at. I still want to improve my gameplay, but I don’t care about my rank. I’ll get the gold skins and the boarders if they look good, but ultimately I just want to enjoy myself. Obviously I still try to win in ranked, I’m not throwing, but I play match by match instead of playing to rank up. Great video!

  This kinda summaries my thoughts on the game. I have over 650 hours in Rivals. My peak has been Diamond 2 and after not playing comp in a long time I don't even bother anymore. My first match in ranked the other day had my other Tank throwing, for the 1st half because he didn't realize he selected ranked instead of QP (as if that's a valid reason not to try) then tried to accuse the rest of the team of being trash while he's 0 and 9 on Devil D. I reported him then turned my console off. This game is wasted on this fanbase.

  Lowkey ranked is like 50/50 rn u get the best or worst teammates, QP is just impossible to get one good team so ima just suffer in ranked…

  They need arcade mode to be better. I wish arcade mode had all PVE events even the older/temporary ones.<br><br>I don&apos;t think they need to add the rewards like skins to it but that would be nice.

  I reached Eternity in S8,5 as a solo queue, Mister Fantastic main on PC and since then, I have not touched ranked at all. I found some cool buddies to play Quick Match with and my enjoyment of the game has gone up significantly. We win like 80% of the matches and it is crazy how easy the game becomes when you have a full team of competent players, not even some tryhards, just competent people with common sense. In ranked, I often got absolute apes who shouldn&apos;t have left Gold in Celestial 1 lobbies and so many throwers too...the higher in ranks you got, the more toxicity you encountered, it was insane.

  Since Season 0, the only thing I ever wanted from ranked was an environment where I would be matched with players of my skill level, which should in theory provide balanced and close matches. For me, it was never about the rank itself. Doesn&apos;t matter if I&apos;m Gold or Celestial, as long as the aforementioned criteria is filled. Unfortunately that never happened. Since the game&apos;s release and up to today the matchmaking has been... inconsistent, to say the least. The game&apos;s idea of balanced matches isn&apos;t what I described at all. It&apos;s not close matches between two teams of equal skill. Instead it&apos;s a pattern of stomping obviously worse teams, and then getting stomped by obviously better teams, until your winrate is close to 50% and until you get the infamous win / loss streaks that everyone who plays the game has experienced by now. Unfortunately that sort of design is effective because it is addictive. Slot machines are programmed in the same exact manner. Carefully optimized loss streaks, followed by carefully optimized win streaks, all done in order to keep players hooked and maintain optimal engagement.

  You have sooooo many valid points. They have to fix matchmaking. The other day on my stream I called out a casual and they came to my chat and apologized. I explained when you go 0-5 it&apos;s time to switch but they admitted they didn&apos;t take rank seriously and they only been playing rivals for 2 seasons at lvl 35. Yeah it was in gold and last season I peaked at D3 which I&apos;m proud of. I&apos;m still learning but I also want to win. The matchmaking genuinely sucks. At least matchmake players closer to the lvls they are currently on. Gold has wayyyyy to many of those players who genuinely don&apos;t care which is fine but it sucks for the ppl who want to rank up and learn.
