  I live in a neighborhood that Mamdani just barely won. Within a few weeks after he was sworn in, there were road crews out fixing potholes here, and nearby in parts of Crown Heights that he lost. &nbsp;Adams was half-assing important stuff and paying close attention to petty cronyism. Mamdani&apos;s team cared about basic services. New Yorkers saw that happen, they saw the effect, and they liked it. It&apos;s not about hot button issues. It&apos;s mostly about giving a shit about doing the boring parts job of running a city. Sewer Socialism works.

  They don&apos;t get that most local governments don&apos;t respond to complaints outside the official way and its usually slow if addressed or ignored entirely. The fact someone can post a picture and get it fixed in 24 hours is government working the way its intended and quickly and efficiently.

  They can&apos;t figure out why he&apos;s so popular. Its simple, he&apos;s delivering. Hes delivering so well its putting all other mayors and presidents to shame. We finally have someone putting the people first. If you can&apos;t figure this out, you dont belong in politics

  It is crazy how the entire media-sphere attacks Mamdani saying &quot;why do people like him so much&quot;. The reason is simple. Mamdani wants government to work for the majority of the people. Not just the top 1%. He wants our taxpayer dollars to be spent intelligently. Not millions on consulting fees for McKinsey. Not on film/tv tax credits. Not on the Buffalo Bills stadium that now serves less fans. He wants to spend our money on things that benefit society. The fact that he can come into office and within 7.5 months, he has secured $1.2B in child card, initiated a rent freeze, started efforts to build more housing, balanced the budget that had been poorly managed for years, &nbsp;optimized bus routes, filled 100K potholes, started city-run grocery stores in food deserts, and improved relationships with the state legislature goes to show how incompetent/corrupt the rest of our politicians are.
