Things students will do (instead of doing work) without phones:
-Find a way to use phones anyway
-Skip class
-Camp in bathroom
-Wander halls
-Play games on laptop
-Mess around with calculator buttons
-Draw
-Talk to one another more during class
-Bring fidget toys
-Read a book
-Sleep in class
-Daydream

I’ve done everything here at least once, and any kid growing up with more than a quarter of a frontal lobe will try all this too.

texas resident here, the phone ban literally does nothing. many students have bypassed the digital restrictions on the laptops through many things.

They band phones in school, they said no cellular devices... So my friends brought Nintendo switches, PSP's.. and I brought a gameboy emulator

The thing is that this doesn't teach any student about how life works . Banning phones doesn't teach students to not be distracted it just forces them to pay attention or look at alternative ways to entertain themselves . Kids would just be more disruptive if anything .

0:13 I received an email from my school saying that phones could be used during lunch and passing periods. During class you couldn’t use your phone tho.

Edit: my state government forced the school to make a policy banning phones from the first bell to the last gell

Annoying school rules from my school:

1. No phones in the whole campus, if caught equals phone suspension for 3 whole months

2. Full uniform always, if not wearing uniform equals not allowed to enter campus

3. If no ID equals no campus entering

4. If late you must do a 3 paragraph essay with perfect writing before going to class

the super soaker drill is also pointless because its just water and not real bullets so if you get hit you'll just get wet with water, not blood
