  This is so wrong, as a child I hated going to school, but my mum made sure she encouraged and forced me. Now I am going for my 3rd degree.

  Izzy, I know your parents were wrong for sending you to Italy. However they did their best in your education. Emotan was not a bad school, I also sold in the market for my mum and I am a medical doctor today .There was a schedule that the market does not override school. During term time, I go to market after school and weekend, do my homework in the market, wake up in the middle of the night to study. During holidays I go to market to sell for my mum. I did this from primary 5 till I gained admission into university. No extra lessons, just my own effort of waking up at night to study. That market shaped me.<br>Your dad was a frequent traveller for work, even if he had stood his ground when he is around, what happens when he travelled. It was up to your mum to regulate when u come to help her.<br>Everything will be alright my dear sister &quot;wey worry you&quot;.(in your voice)

  This man couldn’t actually stand on his grounds as the head of the family(the house) to decide that, his girl-child, has to quit the market and go back to school if truly education really mattered to him, but his selfish-self, who never wants to own up and take responsibilities could actually decide that, his girl-child can quit the market and travel abroad? Like wft! Make it make sense old man???? I was expecting Izzy to ask him this but she didn’t! This man is so full of himself and has no regrets nor guts to take responsibilities!!!!!!

Should I be happy that he “mistakenly” said that not realizing he makes no sense trying to praise the north, Or should I be angry at him not knowing that everyone needs to be valued and protected 🤦🏾‍♂️. This is so sad to watch as a Hausa and northerner myself who lived in Italy for years and never come across any northern (Hausa) woman going through all this, I’m not here to be tribalistic btw. I always wonder, and it’s just sad to see and sickening seeing all this girls on the street… 🥹
