I use baking soda to wash out coffee stained cups. Use toothpaste to shine my silver. Boil orange and lemon rinds for room freshener.

Corn starch is also good as a replacement for baby powder or talcum powder. It's absorbency gets rid of diaper rashes better than most baby products. Grandma knew that too. Never, ever mix Ammonia with Bleach.... EVER!!! The resulting compound is Mustard Gas that will burn the lining of your lungs and send you to the hospital at the very least.

I put borax in my dishwashing liquid to wash my dishes. It gets rid of bad odours.
