  Today, I would like to share a very interesting incident about Professor Habib. When my senior Ms Srabani Chakraborty (Bhattacharya) madam was completing her graduation University of Calcutta, she was in dire need of Professor Habib&apos;s magnum opus &apos; The Agrarian System of Mughal India (1556-1707)&apos; . The book was unavailable at the market and even in the University Library. So, she wrote a letter to Professor Habib to send him a copy of the book and she would pay for it. A week later a printed material arrived her. It was the book. Professor Habib photo copied the 500 page book and sent her. With that there was a letter attached by Professor Habib which read that it was a gift to her and he &nbsp;promised to sent her the original copy of the book at once he got it from the Publishers.<br>Just think the amount of humility and compassion he possesses. Salute Professor Habib.

  शानदार<br>इस उम्र में इतनी देर खड़े रहकर इतना संतुलित बात करना, और फिर बिल्कुल सहनशीलता से जवाब देना बहुत उत्साहित करने वाला है, पत्रकार की शालीनता और इतिहासिक समझ भी बेहतरीन है।

  Prof. Irfan Habib is a legend. I , &nbsp;as a student in Delhi University &nbsp;wasn&apos;t taught from his books. Didn&apos;t go for MA classes. But went to Maharaja College &nbsp;library in Ara,during a summer vacation, and borrowed a book by Irfan &nbsp;Habib on the Revenue System in Mughal times and took it with me to Hindu College ,Delhi University where I was a student. My seniors &nbsp;from across the Road - St. Stephen&apos;s &nbsp;College, preparing for the Civil Services grabbed it as if it was a pot of Gold. Never got it back. &nbsp;I think , I should replace what Maharaja College, Ara lost.This was 40 years ago. May God keep Prof. Irfan Habib in good health.
