  Hey Lauren, I just want to thank you for bringing us along on this new adventure with your family. Remember that’s all of this is new to you, your husband(retired) and the kids. Take your time, have self care, laugh as much as possible. GOD has all control over you guys, everything might not be perfect, but you are building family memories and bounds that will last forever.

  Almost 40 year RV person here.  Just a few things to make travel days smoother.  Get out as early as you can, and go as long as you can before you stop.  Every stop you lose 30 minutes to an hour if you stop for food.  a 5 to 6 hour travel day becomes 8 or 9 quickly.  Make sandwiches, sausage cheese, and crackers, etc the night before for travel day lunch.  Use a little plug in cooler to store lunch so you don't need ice.  Then lunch does not involve stopping, and you save tons of money.  Also, plan travel day dinners to be as no cook as possible.  Pizzas, wraps, super easy stuff cause you will be tired.  Everyone stays put until dad has the RV parked and leveled.  Then you two can focus on parking the RV without chaos.  I promise, it gets easier as you find your rhythm.  There will always be stressful days, but its the same with any kind of travel. I just love how Violet had the biggest Blizzard!

  Plumbing tip…never leave the black tank open…the result will be “Mt. Poopmore.” Only open when ready to dump. Save the gray tank and always empty it last…will flush the black line. If the black tank is not 75%, add water thru the toilet. The flush needs lots of volume to help empty the tank.

  You guys are making us want to get back in our 5th wheel and GO! I think it’s awesome your kids are able to have these experiences and not be stuck at a desk! Enjoy your travels!
