Rachel is totally responsible and mature - that's what the Company directors are looking for when they talk to an auditioning dancer. They know she can dance, but is she responsible and someone who knows what being a member of a company entails? Rachel certainly does! Now she just has to get her drivers license! That's the easy part!

Thank you for sharing the details! People don't realize how difficult and draining getting a company contract is, and I'm glad you're shedding light on how even the most talented dancers don't have a sure, secured spot without the work

I want to say that this is definitely one of the best videos I've ever seen regarding ballet dancers because it really puts everything in a timeline and makes it very clear what the process was and is when it comes to going from being a student to being a professional. I don't think there's a young woman who's better prepared to handle the challenges of being a professional then you. I think that you have made so many good choices leading up to this one that this choice was going to be good no matter what you did. I like how you light up when you think about contemporary because I think that a good ballet dancer has to also appreciate contemporary in today's climate of dance. But I'm a writer so what do I know? Lol. Good luck to you!

All this setting at Juilliard is so familiar to me from hanging out at my playground, Lincoln Center. It's just the same as 10 years ago. It really is exciting, and Rachel is so upbeat and optimistic about her auditions.

I haven't danced in more years than I care to admit, but this was still a very entertaining video. When you said "...got to talk to Ethan Stiefel..." I actually gasped and said "No! Shut up!" That decades ago Center Stage crush has not died off, apparently. LOL! How exciting for you to have so much interest. I can only imagine the pressure of deciding. Best of Luck in this season and wherever you go from there.
