  Oh Siege, my beloved. <br><br>Each Operator&apos;s video shows, generally, what the Operator is about. 1st, Smoke; Mustard-esque gas canisters. 2nd, Mute; cutting off gadget connections, 3rd, Sledge; he has a sledgehammer, etc. Each cut is each Operator&apos;s showcase, usually showing a small tidbit of lore for them alongside what they&apos;re mainly meant to do in-game. All of these up to IQ: Wrist-strapped tech seeker, play when the Operator is bought in game (via in-game currency obtained by just playing). From Frost and Buck on, they&apos;re just on YouTube.

  The first half of cinematics are from 2015 when the game first game out, they would play when you unlocked the character, and introduce you to their character and unique gadget. The last half are from actual trailers for the character and map releases

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2qfHC_C-msg&amp;t=553">9:13</a> The reason he says it was designed for tanks, is because a lot of modern tanks are equipped with something called ADS (Active Defense System) or more specifically in tank terminology, APS (Active Protection System). As opposed to passive systems which let the tank take damage but withstand it, ADS attempts to neutralise the threat before it even gets a chance to hit. It won’t stop modern tank shells as they’re too fast but it may stop slower things like RPG-7 rounds and other projectiles of the like.<br><br>Edit: Thanks for the correction in the replies on the fact that certain APS systems can neutralise tank rounds.

  I am sure you noticed this while watching but after Operation Blood Orchid they massively changed the way they reveal the operators, and this is because they added “season reveals” (basically a video showcasing all of the new content in the season) and created a Test Server, so they were no longer showing actual gameplay and instead creating teasers that kinda teased the gadget (except for thunderbird for some reason) which built up hype and allowed players to theorize and talk about and make guesses on what the gadget was or how the operator was gonna work before they got fully revealed. It worked incredibly well and I have very distinct memories being part of the community and making guesses on what the operator gadgets were gonna be based off the teasers, notably for Azami, Grim, Solis, and Flores.<br><br>That being said, there are actual videos for CGI, both CGI and stylized animation, that go over the lore, world building, characters and all that, that would be more akin to like video game cutscenes, and those are like actual proper short films. I forgot the names of them but those do exist for Siege

  Yeah, if you watch without knowing anything, you won&apos;t understand much. <br><br>In a nutshell. <br>There&apos;s defenders and there&apos;s attackers. Each has their own gimmick, their own gadget. These short videos assume you know what gadget the operatives are using, and they just give you a vibe of that operative. The first operatives were realistic(Dude with sledgehammer, dude with shield, dude with armour), but the longer the game lived the more futuristic it became.

  These trailers are definitely made more in mind of the fans as you said, they intentionally leave it vague and short to generate hype and theories. Although their best work are the cinematic trailers, a lot longer, better quality, and actually a story. Would be awesome if you checked those ones out.
