I survived a home invasion in 2005 when I was a freshman in college. 3 dudes with a cattle prod broke in, beat me. I will say that afterward the anxiety and stress was unreal. I would sleep with a knife next to my bed, sometimes I would wake up and make sure it was still there. This became a habit no matter where I was sleeping. Now as an adult I got a security system, ring cameras, and multiple guns. I also have my wife trained how to handle and shoot, with her own set of guns. Never again.
