  I love that the person who gives the flower quest is one of the strongest knights in lore and could probably very well make that trek on their own to put the flower at the grave

  All you need to know. Your dad, the King of this place, made like 17k children with what is now a tree because he hated the sun and you and that final boss are some of the successful ones. The final boss was meant to vore some of the sun's evil juices, but because he had emotions he failed and now YOU have to fix it.
