X-men comics are easily my favorite kind of comics solely because of how they can tackle very complex real world themes with ease while still giving a compelling superhero narrative

It sucks how the only live-action X-Men movie that had all six members of the original team in it (Professor X, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Beast, Angel, and Iceman) in it was The Last Stand, and they didn't have a scene that had all of them together. Talk about a wasted opportunity, especially since Angel was barely even in it.

Just like Grant Morrison said in the Wizard Magazine years ago....... The Avengers are a Football team, The Justice League are a world leaders group and the X-Men are a school.

As a kid in the 80’s I don’t know why but I mostly collected X-Men titles. To find out as an adult that the X-Men were patterned after the civil rights struggles of African Americans (looked down upon/shunned/but posses extraordinary resiliency) Professor X is modeled after M.L.K. & Magneto is modeled after Malcolm X makes all of the sense in the world.

The Clarmont and Jim Lee X-men were amazing. Such good stories and art. That was my golden age of comics.
