How to Soundproof a Duplex THE RIGHT WAY

  Unfortunately, my friend lives in a townhouse with a noisy neighbor above her. So "soundproofing a ceiling" is what she needs to do. Any tips for that?

  HI   In order to sound proof my  walls if i  use  MLV on existing  Drywall and then   screwing another  drywall on the top of the MLV   would that work  for wall that does not have any  insullation   thx

  Currently converting a bungalow into a duplex. Both units would be sharing a furnace. Would this share a lot of sound transfer?

  I have a person who sleeps below my bedroom.  She complains if I walk in the room at night because the footsteps wake her up.  Currently I have hard wood flooring in my room.  Will laying the mass loaded vinyl and putting carpet on top of that help deaden the footstep noises?

  Not sound related but How about living in a row home and ventilation... my senior citizens neighbor smokes pot and hot boxes my house ! It smells horrible for hours after. The walls are bricks and plaster. Built in 1956. I assume it leaks over thru the attic crawl space. You have any ideas ?

  I live in a duplex and you can hear a lot. My house is attached. What is exactly between the dividing wall? I know there is plaster but I don’t think there is  brick.

  Hi, my problem is sound from concrete roof, I live in apartment, and the people upstairs make a lot of noise like dragging chairs, furniture and stomping. We have solid concrete roof. Please suggest a few economical solutions.

  Nice video. I live in a townhouse in the Netherlands where the interior walls between homes are either cinder block or concrete. My neighbors are incredibly noisy for both air sounds and vibrations. What would you recommend for loud voices? Can I still go with just the MLV and drywall solution? Or should I also add sound-insulating Rockwool to the mix? Thanks!
