I spotted the mate in 2, but definitely couldn't spot the sequence of absolute savagery that ensued after he declined M2 and chose violence

When a GM sacrifices everything, it's a genius move and inspiring and creative
But when I sacrifice everything, it's a huge blunder and giving a stroke to everyone watching

I wish people would go into Danish gambit, it's so fun to play, but most players I play against just declines them :(

"wow that might've been the most efficient way to mate"
is -15 for the opponent

Eric: this was one of my best ever games!
Stockfish: 50 blunders, missed mate, -20… etc

The fact that black was technically winning for much of that just shows how crazy good computers are. Despite the material advantage I know I would crumble so quickly if I were in Black's shoes at any point of those attacks

I have played Danish Gambit ever since I was a beginner. Now I am 2100 on lichess, but I am yet to play against a player who knows what they are doing aginst Danish. Every Danish Gambit game is a chaotic "Who can blunder faster" match.

Really goes to show that material advantage is not always the most important. Great video!

Sometimes when I play I get mad because I have a huge material advantage but my opponent is still outplaying me. Really goes to show how important king safety is as you climb the rating ladder.
