You can see from this video why Chrome Plating is expensive. The process requires a lot of expert cutting and polishing and a high level of knowledge in the plating process. Proper platers are real craftsmen.

Ben Zinc plating at home for 20 years so a bit of practice! Mainly do Motorcycle parts, you save a fortune, replate all the bolts, nuts and washers plus brake parts and brackets. Party piece is carburettor bodies, they are pot metal zinc alloy so come up like new. Chrome nope tried that at home and no way, over to the chrome shop for that. Respect for your work thats just art.
