  I’m actually a native West Virginian that remembers when our New River Gorge Bridge was built.  I’m also very familiar with what it feels like to live in an “extraction” state unfortunately.  I spent the entire month of April in mainland China and a week in Hong Kong…the difference is staggering.  We’re not close.  We’re  not even playing the same game anymore

  As long as I don’t starve or live a poor life, I don’t care if it’s communism or central planning.  Freedom of speech is easily muddled with empty vessels making the most noises or much ado about nothing.

  In Chinese, the word for "poverty" is written as '' 贫困 ". This term is composed of (poor) and  (isolation/confinement), which immediately reveals an important cause of poverty: being cut off from the outside world and the inability of resources to circulate. Want to understand why China is pouring massive resources into infrastructure in such a terrible place as Guizhou and other places? The Chinese characters themselves will give you the answer.
