I just used this on my 3TDXs. It really was as easy as you show. Easy to apply product and great results.

I would not used a water based lacquer, it will raise the wood grain. I'd rather wear a respirator and spray normal solvent based lacquer. still was worth it watching you guys spray the finish with the cheapo gun

The first set of speakers I built, I used water based stains and eventually the veneer bubbled badly. I used wood glue to attach the veneer. Not sure what I did wrong, but I applied the glue liberally and then covered the entire surface with another piece of wood and clamped it down until it dried.

even though it's water based you can still breath in the atomized paint mist, I would still wear a mask and goggles. it's like breathing in fine dust in the air
