  This was not a planned video. I played SM64 last weekend on a whim (PC Co-op mod for those wondering - you can set it to play solo), and figured I'd make a video. Enjoy my casual thoughts and maybe I'll cover some more Mario games in the future.

  I fully support you covering the DS remake. It’s so often dismissed or forgotten when besides the controls it’s by all means a much better game

  Fun fact about JRB: When you first start the level, it&apos;s all cloudy and foggy, which really adds to its mystic flair. Once you raise the ship, the weather becomes sunny which kinda symbolizes that Mario has cleared up the mystique of the level. <br>it&apos;s a really subtle touch that I think helps with theming ^^

  You absolutely DON&apos;T need the coin room in tiny huge island for the 100 coin star; if you ground pound the giant goombas, they drop a blue coin, so it is extremely easy to get approx 130 coins on that level

  Cool, Cool Mountain is probably my favorite overall because of how well it utilizes the mountain itself. You start by going down the mountain in different ways, then you traverse upwards and downwards for coins, then you find the hidden area. It’s a ton of versatility

  Seeing the amount of ROM hacks this game has along with the spedrun comunity that never gets tired of this game, I think this has to be one of the most played single player games of all time

  You bring up some great points i’ve never seen anyone else mention. They were very interesting to me for that reason. Here’s some of my favorite points:<br><br>1. Tall tall mountain stars are mostly &nbsp;“climb the same path to a slightly different point” <br><br>2. Wet Dry World having more interesting stars (and yes it feels very isolated for a level. It’s not somewhere i can imagine living or traveling to) Arguably that making the variety of stars it has more interesting. <br><br>3. I understand your preferences for having a lot of variety of locations in a stage for stars. I can see why Big Boo’s haunt, Hazy Maze Cave and Cool Cool Mountain are top tier in that regard. <br><br>4. I also understand that spamming bottomless pits in every level in the end game is a bad choice. However i think Rainbow Ride and Tick Tock Clock deserve to have that design considering those are top floor stages in the end game. If stages before that removed the gimmick i think the problem would be much less apparent

  That Tall Tall Mountain, You can get that star on the Mushroom by jumping, and killing the Shy Guy, as it&apos;ll give you the jump and momentum to go from that one side to another without losing your life
