  Super Metroid has some real tricky parts for newcomers that can make them quit from frustration. Zero Mission is much more beginner friendly.

  For Metroid I'd highly recommend Zero Mission as a starting point. It's the true beginning of the story and an excellent remake of that first game, while staying true to the core Metroid formula

  I somehow managed to beat Pokemon blue at the age of 6 without a guide. When I got Gold I didn’t know where Mr. Pokémon’s house was to get out of the intro and start the game. By the time I did my totodile was a level 18 Croconaw 😂

  The best Fire Emblem to start on is 7 aka The Blazing Sword. Lyn's story is a tutorial that teaches all of the basic mechanics to the franchise and 7 has a fantastic cast of characters

  Starting with Metroid Prime on the Switch/Wii/GameCube is completely fine too. That's where I started and I mainly suggest it because of the scan visor. Having that little hint system to help you figure out which items goes to which obstacle is a great help to first timers

  First Metroid I ever played was Zero Mission on Wii U virtual console, and it was incredible. I would recommend that game as a starting point for sure.

  I'd argue that the first New Super Mario Bros on the Wii is the best for absolute beginners. It really took Mario back to its roots, and its still fun to play with others for chaotic shenanigans

  Kirby and the Forgotten Land is excellent, I get it. It's either my number 1 or 2. But as someone who has played every game in this series, Kirby Super Star Ultra is by far the best pick for first. It's similar enough to the older games while feeling modern enough to get one of the most definitive Kirby experiences. It also has a wide variety of gameplay so you can easily branch off into another game. Spring Breeze is a literal remake of the original Kirby's Dream Land, Great Cave Offensive inspired Kirby and the Amazing Mirror. The others provide such a unique experience, and the rest of the series definitely has KSS(U)'s blood in it. Otherwise, for modern Kirby, Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe is definitely the best pick, and it even feels natural to go from that to the 3DS and then the Switch Kirby games. I was a lunatic and played the entire series in order, but it turned out alright

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2QhnCDsdnd8&amp;t=1621">27:01</a> I agree that the new game of <b>Star Fox</b> is really great (greater than expected), but I choose the middle ground and go for <b>Star Fox 64.</b> Something about it, and it’s blocky presentation, make it so endearing. It has a nice frame-rate for the most part, and doesn’t waste time with too heavy of a story element. It’s the perfect blend, and features some nice multiplayer.
