I appreciate all the comments and support on this video! I see a lot of people talking about books they’re working on and I think that’s amazing. I’m sorry I can’t give in depth answers to you all, but know that I wish you the best of luck as writers. Life is too short to not try to do something you love ❤️

I’ve always felt that romance gets so much attention in books that friendship is completely overlooked. Friendship is the heart of my stories, and I wish it were for many more as well.

This is why i love children's chapter books. They have so many of these themes in a very pure form. Especially friendship and wallflower - children are always observing and are very perceptive.

I’m writing a graphic novel that puts friendship as the focus rather than romance!! This includes platonic friendships between guys and gals cause that’s not seen enough :)

A few topics and or themes i want someone to write about.

1. The everyday horror of being a child. Not puberty. The constant condescension and undermining of your autonomy. The endless ignorance of your preferences and emotions. The choking realization that adults don't see you as a person, but as a little doll that people bring into the world because THEY want you not because they want to raise you. Basically I want a book that makes adults realize that children have minds of their own, that they have wants, preferences and opinions. I also want people to stop acting as if Parents OWN their kids. This is probably an America thing but still.

2. A psychological horror from the pov of the monster. Not a mindless killing spree sorta book but the human mimic doing it for so long that they question where their monstrosity ends and the mask begins.

The Neapolitan Novels by Elena Ferrante follow the story of a single friendship throughout the lifetime of two women. You see how their experiences in early childhood set the stage for their dynamic for the rest of their lives, including genuine understanding of each other, friendly (and unfriendly) rivalry, and being so influenced by each other that it’s hard to tease apart where one person ends and the other begins.

Characters that enjoy loneliness without beeing grumpy or having apathy. Or a good representation of an introvert masking as an extrovert and the consecuentes of it (yea i just want to relate to someone)

My friends keep hounding me about why it's taking me so long to write my book even though I'm working on it almost every day for hours. It's because I'm actually trying to explore things at depth and not leave loose ends unless that's the point, and it all takes a lot of work??? I'll do like an hour of research for two paragraphs of writing but to me it's worth it??? Like idk just trying to make my work itch the scratch of what other media hasn't been delivering.
