  I was listening to this through an earbud around the <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2NbMkrql5Zg&amp;t=4750">1:19:10</a> mark, and when Hannah said what God told her, &quot;My church are the people who are doing what is right,&quot; I literally jumped up, punched the air, and whooped loudly. 😂😅 My almost woke up my 2-year-old son, who was taking a nap.<br><br>But anyway, yes, that is SO true!

  The unfalsifiable question went right over their heads. Either the claims the church makes are true as in they correspond to reality or they aren’t. Asking if the church is true is not a flawed statement. Never heard that one before.

  Regarding the authority to baptize, the scriptures have very few examples of how that authority is given that could possibly be interpreted as God&apos;s authority being passed down from God to man, and then only among men after that (perhaps Moses passing it to Aaron, or Elijah to Elisha, could be interpreted that way, but I don&apos;t think so). But they&apos;re absolutely <b>filled</b> with examples of God giving His authority to someone directly, and then again to another directly, and then again to another directly, and so on.<br><br>A prime example the Judds would be familiar with is Alma (&quot;the elder&quot;) in the Book of Mormon. He was a newly ordained priest of King Noah. Later, after repenting and just before baptizing hundreds of people, he prays for authority to baptize, feels the Holy Spirit rest upon him, and then proceeds to baptize. Who gave him that authority? If authority is passed from God to man, and then only among men after that, then we <b>must</b> conclude that Alma got his authority from King Noah, and that King Noah was, therefore, not the wicked man the Book of Mormon makes him out to be. <b>Or,</b> if God can grant authority to whomever He chooses whenever He chooses, then we can conclude that the LDS church doesn&apos;t have the corner market on God&apos;s authority. Only one of those possibilities makes any sense.<br><br>Great discussion! Great interview! And a great thing to listen to on a relaxing Sunday afternoon. 😁

  Kolby, I love Judd’s and I know they’ve been severely mistreated. Their entire family has. Instead of being helped out along the way through all of their trials and struggles LDS church leaders have intentionally caused them harm. i’ve watched about 95% of Crazy Train. It’s very interesting for sure. Through all of it my biggest question remains the same as yours, <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2NbMkrql5Zg&amp;t=3323">55:23</a> “why continue to strive so hard to be a part of something that clearly wants no part of you“? Why remain so faithful to a church organization that clearly hides, manipulates, lies and even commits fraud simply to avoid further questioning? I believe the bad actors, the LDS church members they’ve been dealing with, will never come clean and they will never apologize. <br>It’s so very obvious to me that the Book of Mormon is true and that its purpose is to literally call out the LDS church and its fraudulence. The church has a major problem with lying and deception. The Book of Mormon addresses that specifically. The LDS church has grown into a massive multi billion dollar corporation that would rather invest its billions to make more profit while throwing a few buckles and dimes in the name of charity. <br>Multiple places throughout the Book of Mormon describe the LDS church to a T. It’s deception, it’s greed, it’s pride, it’s false and vain and foolish doctrines. Insisting that Joseph Smith was a whoremonger, a con artist, a manipulator and a womanizer. He was no such thing. And then there’s the whole blacks and the priesthood thing where Brigham Young decided blacks were unworthy of the priesthood. And then there’s the whole rock in the hat debacle. Joseph never said he used a rock in a hat, but history has been erased and rewritten to claim such nonsense.<br>In short, it floors me that the Judd’s continue to strive to be a part of a cliquish group of people who are quick to judge, quick to lie and quick to cover up, yet they continue to keep their association with a church that literally does not care about them.<br>And to hear their children talk about going on missions to promote the same church that refuses to be honest with them really hurts my heart.<br>What I’m trying to say is that I agree with you. Why try so hard to stay a part of something so evil and so willing to terribly harm the Judd‘s entire family?

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2NbMkrql5Zg&amp;t=4705">1:18:25</a> this is actually very telling. I stopped attending a couple of years ago. Before that I took careful notes the last few months that I attended wanting to see exactly how much Jesus was talked about, how many talks and lessons taught about Jesus, which only seemed fitting in Jesus’ one true church. Not one lesson and not one talk was about Jesus. Instead there was a lot of talk about church leaders, serving in the church, increasing temple attendance, paying tithing, paying tithing and paying tithing.

  The reason it’s so difficult for church members to believe that the church itself is behind this sort of thing is because of how it portrays itself - Christ’s own church and full of only love for all of mankind. The reality is far darker and this cognitive dissonance when members come up against the truth is so confusing. I speak from experience (not that I’ve ever been banned - just the cognitive dissonance).

  My husband and I have been binging this tonight. Currently on chapter 7 and we are both screaming at the recordings of the discussions with the bishop. We are both triggered and absolutely raging. I have very similar recordings I made of 3 of our manipulative bishops and stake president during our own nightmare. We keep saying &quot;we aren&apos;t crazy!!!&quot; I can&apos;t tell you how validating this has been. The Judds are good people, we know our family are also good people. I&apos;m not going to watch this episode until we finish all of the chapters but holy hell it&apos;s been a rollercoaster of a night. We have a happy ending, I sure hope the Judds have a happy ending. Saving this to our playlist so we can come back. Love you Steve and Kolby! THANK YOU!!!
