Fire Zone Blitzes - Coach Cassity

Now let’s talk about some of our fire zones or man freeze that we do out it so we will call stack G and we call these our exchange zones. Our exchange zones stack G exchange zones. So let’s draw up the concept of how we name them. Thank this is very very important you understand this alright again stack G let’s just do this to begin with let’s call the gaps GAPS to tight the end lets define those as A gap B gap C gap D gap so get up to the tight end or the A B C and D alright gaps away from tight end let’s call this one attack A-T-T-A-C-K attack for A gap blast for B gap charge for C gap. Alright A B C D attack blast charge A B C D is to the tight end words attack blast charge are away from the tight end so let’s make a call right there. Alright lets go stack G so it is away from the tight end it’s a rip call rip stack, alright again Sam, Mike, and Will those in Sam Mike go to your right to the call, tackle rush Will go away from the call, I want the corner pressed up I want the corner pressed up I want the free safety at ten yards and the strong safety at ten yards so right now as the offense come to the line the quarterback looks up and he sees two high safeties that’s great we want him to see that he see’s pressed up corners now what are they going to do from that are they going to play cover two are they going to play quarters pressed are they going to bail fire zones are they going to play man free with press corners and drop a safety down are they gonna blitz linebackers yes to all of the above yes to all of the above we’re gonna come after you two out of three times we’re not gonna disappoint you we’re not gonna stop your run and we’re gonna hit your quarterback so let’s go ahead and start talking about our stack exchange fire zones alright let’s call stack G Let’s go stack G Will D 9. Alright Stack G is the front Will is the linebacker the gap is D and the coverage is cover 9, cover 9 is a three deep fire zone so let’s see how that looks let’s see if that works stack G rip rip rip okay Will theirs the Will linebacker through the D gap one two three four five the strong safety comes down and he plays the seam of number two the Mike has the number three and the Sam has the same of number two. And we’re playing a three deep fire zone, we can either built the corners or play a press zone man concept meaning that they play press man on the guy on all take offs outs hitches curls digs but if the guy were to run an under route right now he lets him go so it’s a five man rush it’s a three under three under three deep fire zone here’s why we like exchange zones more so than other fire zones in fire zones you’re always dropping a defensive end or one of these guys dropping to the hook, in exchange zone its always DPs and linebackers doing the adjustments all your D lineman are just playing so we got Will D nine and now I’m gonna give you some good secrets I like that on a D and ten I like that at the beginning of the game it’s a very safe call it’s a spring in a fifth rusher being sound I like it on P and ten which again stands for a new possession where they run on the field after a punt or a kick off or a turnover it’s a great conservative, conservative is not the right word its everything but conservative from the standpoint of you we got a really good Will linebacker coming off the edge of the tight end that if he goes out puts a lot of pressure on that guys that tackle right there stack G or stack Will D 9 alright now let’s just call Will C 9. Will C 9 I like the Will D nine versus strong run play action pass I like the Will C nine on strong side run or run away I think it’s very important that you know some of these exchange zones of what coverage you run and you know that but what your trying to stop alright let’s take this a step further let’s go with a let’s go stack Mike A nine stack.
