I can't stand when teammates in these types of stories always say something is too risky.
DAY after DAY after DAY, enemy by enemy he has shown that he can solo an army. But y'all think some bats are his biggest issue? Some fish?

I'd be biting at the chance to send him to EVERYTHING, not hold him back.

This is ending at chapter 77 and I believe only up until chapter 92 has been translated to English. The entire novel is around 237 chapters. Very highly unlikely you will ever see the part two or part three of this anytime soon. Below is a little bit of a spoiler of what comes after this and the ending to the novel for those who are you interested:

Major spoilers from Chapter 77 onward

I couldn’t verify a reliable chapter-by-chapter English summary for every remaining chapter. The original Korean novel contains 237 completed episodes, while the manhwa is still adapting it. A literal summary of all 160 remaining episodes would also essentially replace the novel, so here is the story divided into its major arcs and ending.

The original novel’s structure is approximately 212 main-story episodes plus 25 side-story episodes. Naver officially lists all 237 episodes as complete.

Immediately after the giant ogre

Capturing the ogre alive becomes another achievement that is nearly impossible for the military to overlook. The officer trying to prevent Kim Minjun’s promotion continues looking for technicalities and political ways to undermine him, but the basic problem remains: Minjun keeps producing results that nobody else can reproduce.

That conflict does not become the story’s final major struggle. The person opposing him is eventually made irrelevant by Minjun’s overwhelming record, public recognition and usefulness to the military. In other words, he does not successfully destroy Minjun’s career.

Minjun rises through the military

The story continues the joke established early on: Minjun originally wants a relatively comfortable life, money and enough free time to play games, yet every crisis makes him increasingly indispensable.

He rapidly advances through the enlisted ranks, becomes a noncommissioned officer and eventually receives a commission. A Korean review of the completed novel describes his progression through corporal, sergeant and the senior NCO ranks, followed by second lieutenant, first lieutenant and captain—and says he ultimately earns a general’s star.

So yes: the people trying to block his promotion ultimately fail spectacularly.

The story becomes much larger than military politics

As Minjun fights increasingly powerful monsters, he absorbs more demonic energy and gradually restores the power he possessed in Isgard, the other world.

His two followers from Isgard eventually cross dimensions while searching for him. Minjun protects them, helps them adjust to Earth and effectively rebuilds part of the strange found-family relationship he had left behind.

He also develops an ability sometimes described as a kind of perpetual engine, allowing him to generate or maintain demonic energy instead of depending entirely on absorbing it from monsters. This removes one of the greatest limitations on his power.

Earth discovers who Minjun really is

The dimensional disturbances and corrupted monsters are not random. Minjun learns that forces connected to Isgard are preparing an invasion of Earth, with the saintess of the empire playing a major role.

At this point, hiding his identity becomes counterproductive. Minjun publicly reveals that:

* He was transported to another world.
* He became its most powerful dark magician.
* He helped save that world.
* The approaching invasion is connected to his past.

He then gathers Earth’s military forces and awakened fighters to prepare for the invasion. A review of the complete novel confirms that he openly announces his returnee identity after learning about the planned invasion.

The powerful swordsman invades Earth

Before the final enemy appears, a tremendously strong swordsman from Isgard crosses over and serves as the story’s major penultimate opponent.

The swordsman is dangerous enough to be considered a catastrophe by Earth’s standards, but Minjun understands Isgard’s combat system and is far beyond what Earth’s authorities initially realized. Minjun defeats him, proving publicly that he is essentially Earth’s strongest defender.

The final enemy

The actual final opponent is connected to the Demon King through a contract. This enemy is behind the largest threat to Earth and represents the culmination of the dimensional invasion storyline.

Minjun confronts and defeats the Demon King’s contractor, stopping the invasion and resolving the conflict between Earth and Isgard. The completed-novel review specifically identifies the invading swordsman as the intermediate boss and the Demon King’s contractor as the final boss.

How it ends

The ending is broadly happy and victorious, not tragic:

* Earth is saved.
* Minjun’s enemies within the military fail to suppress him.
* His identity and accomplishments become publicly recognized.
* He reaches the rank he had been pursuing and ultimately earns a general’s star.
* His followers remain important people in his life.
* He finally has enough status, strength and freedom that ordinary military politics can no longer control him.

The side stories provide additional material after the principal conflict, rather than overturning the victory.

So the closure is basically: the supposedly troublesome soldier whom officers tried to restrain becomes the military’s greatest asset, reveals himself as a world-saving dark mage, defeats an interdimensional invasion and rises all the way to general. He does not lose his power, get permanently disgraced or suffer a bleak ending.
