  I am a person with Cerebral Palsy. I do not have a lot of stamina, i tire and experience pain pretty easily. I would never look at someone who says &quot;prefers someone with an active lifestyle&quot; on their page and think, &quot;oh, they&apos;re ableist! they hate disabled people!&quot;

  Gregory Maguire, the author of Wicked, wrote with antisemitism and the Holocaust in mind - the caricature of a witch with wiry hair, a large nose, and strange clothes originated with European antisemitism and was meant to evoke a stereotypical Jewish woman, the public declaration of Elphaba and animals as enemies of the state, the silencing, removal from public life, and subsequent imprisonment of the animals, and the propaganda distributed to Oz &nbsp;were direct draws from Nazi politics. Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman, when writing the musical, also held this as an influence and important piece of the story. For the original run, they cast Idina Menzel, a Jewish woman, very intentionally. I think it&apos;s so valuable that now we see more cultural perspectives and histories discussed using this story - particularly, like you mentioned, Black women are now represented on stage and on screen in Elphaba&apos;s story. i think Wicked is a pretty engaging introduction to how a basic fascist society may develop for younger people who are unfamiliar with it. the movie is wonderful - i&apos;m sure you will love it!

  Comparing fat activists to incels is one of those things that I&apos;ve always thought but never put to words. But it&apos;s true, there&apos;s so many parallels, like with the whole &quot;It&apos;s impossible to lose weight so you shouldn&apos;t even try,&quot; and the feeling that they&apos;re entitled to a relationship, to the point that not having one is some great injustice, and equating the reason to fatphobia and not their own personal actions and perspective.

It IS important to put in your bio so you can more actively filter out people who won&apos;t match your lifestyle. She&apos;s assuming that when people write &quot;prefer an active lifestyle&quot; it means &quot;prefer thin women&quot; and it DOESN&apos;T, she&apos;s projecting.

  I actually think its fatphobic to assume that someone putting &nbsp;&quot; active lifestyle&quot; in the profile means they aren&apos;t interested in fat people. You can be fat and still work out.

  I can not STAND Marissa, her voice alone makes me feel violent. As someone who&apos;s partner had a heart attack at 36, yes, someone who is health conscious IS a preference, because going through that again isn&apos;t something I&apos;m willing to do. Call it whatever you want, but I refuse to pretend wanting a partner to live a long and happy life makes you ANY kind of bigot.

  I understand where you are coming from when you say that Elphaba should be played by a black woman, but I just wanted to give some context. The wicked witch of the west character is heavily based on anti-Semitic stereotypes from the early 20th century (more obvious in the OG Wizard of Oz movie), so they deliberately cast Idina Menzel as their Elphaba, in part because she is an obviously Jewish woman. It was important to make the point and reclaim the character through a more modern lens. Since then we have had Elphaba’s of almost all races which I love, because the story fits for so many people who don’t fit in!

  I have POTs and I appreciate people putting “prefers an active lifestyle” in their bio because I already know I’m not compatible! I am exercise intolerant so it wouldn’t work out!
