I am 69, forced into early retirement partially by some serious health problems, I'm disabled and mobility-challenged. I'm on a smallish pension and SSI, a limited income. But I own the old family property of three acres, and intend to live here until I pass on. I have a good friendly neighbor I pay to take care of the mowing and yardwork. I don't expect to have very many years left, but I will live them on my own terms. 😎👍

The gall of the dil, believing that her fil should give up his home to accommodate HER parents and put him in a retirement community. . And the son went along with it. That is the part that is really sad.

The entitlement of the DIL to have her parents live in the house and the house owner move to assisted living. And such a weakling of a son. OP gave them slaps in their faces.

I’m 60 years old and a 3 time cancer survivor. I have 3 children, a daughter and 2 sons. My eldest son and I have a good relationship and the youngest son screwed me over in 2018. He stopped paying his student loans, moved out of state, and never used his GI Bill to pay his loans. I got stuck paying six figures to avoid the hassle and having my credit destroyed. I am not playing games with my family any longer. I will die in my home.
