We already have seats with no window access on commercial flights, the middle rows in the large aircrafts have no direct window access, so I cannot for the lift of me see why it would be any different on this new airplane

Nice how you conveniently overlook that the Blended Wing Body had an almost 30 year track record of academic research, including a NASA backed, flown scale model in the early 1990's BEFORE JetZero came on the scene. Don't make it sound like JetZero is starting from first principles, they're standing on the shoulders of research that the flying V is still at least a decade and a half from reaching.

JetZero didn't emerge from nowhere. Bob Liebeck, who led Boeing's Blended Wing Body program and spent decades on BWB research, served as a direct technical advisor to JetZero before his passing in January 2026.
The X-48, a subscale BWB demonstrator developed jointly by Boeing and NASA, is one example of the substantial research foundation this field builds on. There's thirty-plus years of institutional and academic work behind JetZero's design.

Jet zero is probably going to win mostly because the military applications for the US Air Force are immense. Having a blended body become a tanker or cargo plane, and working with an institution that already flies the blended body is a huge leg up

Cylindrical bodies are good at dealing with compression-decompression cycles of flying. The only shape better is a sphere. This is the main reason blended bodies and V bodies have to prove themselves.
There are also safety regulations about distance of a passengers from escape hatches I order to he certain everyone has a chance to evacuate in the little time allowed by severe emergencies.

Another barrier to blended wing/flying “V” aircraft comes down to the hull being able to handle the pressures of altitude flight. The “tube” design distributes internal pressures (mostly) evenly throughout the interior of the “tube”. Blended wing aircraft would not evenly distribute pressurization forces, leading to inherent weak spots in the design that can only be addressed by adding strength/mass, which compromises the promised efficiencies.

I’m still blown away by colour TV. Me old.

Just wonder about passenger comfort in unstable air, the outer seats would surely experience large movements

Well done! Jet Zero doesn't break ground on the Greensboro NC factory until June, 2026. That facility will be located across the highway from Boom Supersonic.

I remember seeing the X-48b flying out of my local airport a decade ago. Handsome rascal.
