  My daughter came home and asked me to learn sign language so she could talk to a boy on her bus. She was so excited and learned it right away. They became fast friends and his mother came by and thanked us. It was a beautiful thing.

  This hit so hard because the family had all the resources to make sure she had the support she needed, but chose to stick with an ignorant view of getting her to fit in and "be normal'. Sign language should absolutely be mandatory in all schools!

  How can parents be so self-centered, jealous, and mean. Even for a moment, I’m so glad she was able to experience real genuine love from a woman who truly cared 🥹

  I watched the speech Rachel gave at the Academy and she mentioned how there are millions of children like Libby who face communication and education barriers. One of the reasons I’m seriously learning sign language is because I want to be able to help break those barriers down.

  This broke me. I want to hug Libby. Her parents basically can’t be bothered with her and she realizes it. How sad to be a stranger in your own family.

  That moment when Libby is at the table with her family and there is no sound is so incredibly powerful. Sometimes, the lack of dialogue/sound tells everything you need to know.

  At <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GbxFIVQv8c&amp;t=175">2:55</a> in the video when the mom left the house without facing her daughter and without even introducing her daughter to Joanna, right then I knew she was going to be the problem.
