His eyes are the same color, but look different because of the dilated pupil. He got in a fight over a girl with his friend George Underwood when they were teenagers. George punched him in the eye. He had surgery on the eye. They were able to save his sight, but the muscles that contract the pupil were permanently damaged. He and George remained good friends, and his eyes gave him an otherworldly look that actually helped him in his career.

My favourite song of his, and this video is stunning. The overexposure highlights the vivid red hair, the blue eye make up and bright red lipstick. As I understand it, his eye was injured in an accident, hence the different pupil sizes.
