I remember being in the closet in the 80s. I can’t imagine how much that fear and dread was multiplied by public life.

Physical beauty is sometimes a curse. I often joke that being ugly was the best thing to ever happen to me. It gave me the anonymity to be honest and discover things on my own. It also took away the pressure never being seen with women. It simply wasn't expected for someone such as myself. In fact it wasn't until I was well in my 40s that anyone noticed I always went to gatherings alone.

Had a crush on Stephen Geoffries while I was a teen. Had no idea he was in adult films. Thank you for dropping the name. Brb.

Did they deserve happiness? that's not a call to discussion, that's lazy writing. Anyone who cares enough to watch a video about ten actors who had to hide their sexuality, NONE of them are going to say "oh no, he didn't deserve to be happy THEN!" I mean, wtf?

You have given the perfect line. "Glen came out as an adult" most people find it hard to come out as gay. I wish more people could be adult; it would make coming out as gay less difficult.

Coming out in the last 15 years or so isn't as challenging as it was in the 80s. Let's hear it for those who had the guts to pave the way for todays' gay stars. And.... not everyone who's a hunk in his 20s is going to continue as a success story in middle age. Ricky Martin is one of those success stories--and I'm sure he's tons happier living his life without having to lie all of the time (especially to reporters).

It’s disgusting how the press treats young gay guys. It’s much different these days and for that I am thankful. So sad that these guys and guys not in their h public eye did not feel safe to be truthful.
