Dude! Put the oil in your hand then rub both hands together and THEN apply it to your face. And rub it in. Like lotion. It will be absorbed within about thirty minutes to an hour. I do this every night after I take a shower and by the time I go to bed, my face feels soft, but not oily at all. I’ve been doing this for about six weeks, and my sunspots have almost completely disappeared, and my face looks much more even toned. I’ve had several people ask me what I’m doing and why I look so rejuvenated. I had a seborrheic keratosis on my cheek that was getting larger and more pronounced. I started soaking a cotton ball in castor oil and then applying it to the spot with a Band-Aid, and leaving it overnight. This thing had been on my face for years, and I swear within four days it was completely gone. Now there is no scar and you can’t tell anything was ever there.

Your "experiments" are too short to ascertain any effectiveness.

unlike pharmaceuticals, natural remedies like this really need some time to do their work. A week is not enough. For stuff like this I think a month minimum is needed.

I wish I could insert a photo here, because I'm a 57 year old woman, I've been using castor oil for about a month now and everyone is commenting on how glowy and rejuvenated my skin looks. A big tip is leave your face damp, get the castor oil in the palm of your hand and rub it together to help emulsify the oil then add it to your face, you can also mix it into day and night creams to help with absorbency. I thought it was going to be just a trend, but at £5.98 a bottle I thought it was worth giving it a go, and I'm so glad I did.

A little oil goes a long way! It looks like you're putting too much oil and like you're not massaging it quite enough. The skin does get plump, that's what you see on your face and that's just fine. Try wetting your face then apply a small drop of castor oil on your palms, rub them well and then apply the castor oil to your face. With these steps the castor will not be too thick when applying it to your face, massage well all over your face. You will see a big difference than how you've been apply the castor oil. Make sure to massage it enough into the skin, don't just put it on. Hope this helps.

hi 60 year old black woman here...this new obsession with this oil is so funny to me..castor oil has been a staple in black households FOREVER...most of us only use castor oil or shea butter....tretinoin and sunscreen is basically a youtube thing and most everyday black people dont use these products..FYI we use castor oil at night and shea butter as a daytime moisturizer

My aunt did a similar experiment by putting castor oil on sunspots on one of her hands and a lightening cream marketed for sunspots on the other for a few months. The castor oil side had significantly improved sunspots more than the cream.

as a 49M, using castor oil nightly for a year, the results have been nothing short of miraculous. in particular, eyelashes and brows are much fuller, eye bags are gone. of particular interest- dry eyes are gone (castor oil is n ingredient in many eye drops). from what i’ve read, it helps open tear ducts and as a result, i can wear contacts two hours longer than i used to. i experienced pretty noticeable eye boogers when i woke up for about a month and then they stopped.

keep in mind that since it takes your body two months to produce new skin, the real substantive changes from using it will take some time, but ill tell you- the compliments just started rolling in. i’ve been asked if i botoxed on more than one occasion. it’s cheap, effective, and will simply be part of my regular skin care routine for the remainder of my days.

pro tip: if you use it after the shower and then do a five minute red light therapy session, it absorbs into your skin much quicker.

I'm 70 years old. My skin got so thin and sensitive. Other facial creams were too harsh and I got rashes. So, I switched to caster oil. Around three months later I noticed my skin began to plump up a little bit. Some fine lines and dark spots faded. But what was really noticeable was that my eyelashes, eyebrows and hairline began to fill out again. My makeup goes on smoother than before. I don't expect to look younger, I just needed age friendly moisturizer. The skin absorbs the oil so my skin doesn't stay oily. Some time back a friend was taken by my complexion that she reached out to touch my face commenting how smooth it was.

I'm a holistic healing practitioner. You should apply a light coating to your feet - tops and bottoms and between toes, nightly before bed. many things will heal from that including your whole skin. By the way, some of those freckles are actually pre-cancerous spots. The castor oil will help that very well. You might try some frankincense essential oil directly on the spots as well just for the cherry on top! No charge! Have a great day.

One week is never enough. At least one month.

Unfortunately, doing anything for your skin for just 1 week is like nothing! The skin renews itself every 28 days, so you need AT LEAST 1 month to see a difference. And the best thing is to do a skin treatment for 3 months, especially for the stretch marks. Also, you should massage the oil into the skin for a few seconds/minutes, not just slap it on. That's when you see the greatest effects. Of any treatment. Maybe you could try this again using these guidelines? I'm pretty sure you will be astonished at the results!
