  It&apos;s interesting that all the Mario Kart games that came after basically followed the Mario Kart DS formula rather than the Double Dash formula from the Game cube. I think Nintendo knew that the DS game was the best one they had made

  Learning snaking in one player was so hyped as a kid for me. I was no where near good enough to play against people online who snaked everywhere all the time, but against the cpu I could do it JUST enough to feel like a pro

  Mario Kart DS is the pinnacle of Mario Kart. &nbsp;Simple. &nbsp;Streamlined. &nbsp;Perfect mechanical design. &nbsp;Tons of extras to play along with battle modes. &nbsp;Actual reward for skill expression &amp; manual drifting. &nbsp;A marvelously focused track selection. &nbsp;No hyper-ADHD explosion of features, track elements, and distractions. &nbsp;Reasonable yet competitive AI. &nbsp;It&apos;s simply perfect.

  this game is a big reason why every time i’ve gotten a new nintendo console since it’s gotta come with mario kart. the game that made me feel closest to this game was Mario kart 8

  This was the second video game I’ve ever played. I’ll never forget the Christmas where I got both a DS and a Wii. While we tried setting up the Wii, I helped myself to the DS with Mario bros and kart. Truly an unforgettable experience.

  Wow, this video was a lot different than I expected and really made me think about MKDS a little more critically. So many people say, “The game is good for single player because there is a mission mode”. That’s very true, but you put in a lot more nuance than usually is put in gaming discourse, especially in a series like Mario Kart where installments feel interchangeable in terms of the core gameplay.

  If you got a flashcart and need more MKDS, there is a mod called CTGP Nitro that adds 72 new track.

  This game holds a special place in my heart. It was my go to for every road trip. Download play with my cousins and the kids on the school bus of elementary school. Elite nitro track selection. Mission mode was fun and exclusive to DS (not counting World’s free roam missions). Recently for the switch 2’s midnight release I brought my 3DS and Mario kart DS with me. Surprisingly, a lot of people also brought their DS so we all started playing download play and it really took me back to my childhood.

  This was my first video game ever so seeing you glaze it for 12 minutes makes my inner child very happy! :D
