  My money was on squirrels at first, but now I&apos;m not so sure...<br><br>What do you think destroyed the oak saplings? 🐿🦌🐭<br><br>And do you think Bella the wren has simply fledged her chicks, or abandoned the nest?

  Thank you for the video, Mr. Don. I terribly sorry to hear about you little oaks. Fortunately, you have some remaining that can be planted when they are of a bigger size. Another opportunity to gather more acorns with you little boy is available and another chance to make even better memories with him. The little wren, Bella, is still in her nest, but wow is she a fast little bird. She flew out of it so quickly. I think she knows she is safe in the outhouse and was just out foraging for some food. Your steaks looked so good that my tummy was growling. Hank was so hungry too. He was so excited to get a bite of the delicious meat, he was sort of trembling before you have it to him.   I&apos;m so sorry about the oak saplings. When something doesn&apos;t turn out as expected, I always tell myself, it just wasn&apos;t meant to be. I know the next batch you plant will be amazing. I was so sad about Bella... but she is there!! I saw her!! I slowed down the speed and yes!!! Her little head poked out around 22.10. Yes! That sure did put a smile on my face!!! I was yelling, NO, don&apos;t do it to the cinnamon. 🤣🤣 Thank you so much! I always look forward to your videos. Hank 💚

  Bummer about the seedlings mate. Great looking steak and rub. Excellent to see Hank having fun. And yes I saw movement in the nest too. So things are looking up.👍

  I often use cinnamon. It’s lovely in Pumpkin soup. <br>Shame about the oaks but it’s one of those lessons you learn the hard way I guess.<br>Gorgeous spot.

  My wife suggested that squirrels might pull the oak trees up and eat what&apos;s left of the acorn at the bottom. Made sense to me but I&apos;m not fond of the tree rats. 😊

  At <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22OSKXM6iBQ&amp;t=1331">22:11</a> Bella looked out of the nest, flew out, sat on the wall and was gone. Need to go to 25% speed, and you‘ll see her.

  The thing about wrens is that once the chicks hatch they grow so fast! Before you know it they fly the coop or outhouse. Also, Mr Bella is normally very involved with feeding the chicks. They both go out and catch food and both come back and feed the chicks! I think it might be why the babies grow so fast and fledge. Mom and Dad stay with them while they are learning. They protect those babies with all their mite! If a predator is around you will hear Mom and Dad fussing loudly!

  I guessed that somebody else had already said this, but seemingly not: as a keen Springwatch fan, I know male wrens are famous for building several nests (often 6 to 12) in early spring to show off. He builds multiple &quot;starter nests&quot; or &quot;dummy nests&quot; around his territory using moss, twigs, and leaves. Initially I thought that&apos;s what you had seen.<br>When a female arrives, he takes her on a tour of his properties around his estate so she can choose the one she likes best.<br>Once the female selects a nest, she takes over the interior design and lines the inside with soft feathers and hair. It looked like Bella was doing that ...<br>Because wrens are polygamous, the male may mate with several different females, showing each of them the remaining nests in his territory.<br><br>Personally, I suspect Bella was tempted away by a more handsome and attentive chap, or a more salubrious neighbourhood - almost certainly nothing to do with you
