  My dad was a patient in Waverly Hills in 1957. He had a lung removed and nearly died. I was only three yrs old and my mom was pregnant with my sister. Luckily he survived. But until the day he passed in 1996, the incision the drs made when they did surgery caused him pain at times. Miss you daddy.❤

  I live in Louisville and I’m also a public health nurse who worked in the county health department’s modern TB clinic. &nbsp;You presented a realistic picture of TB treatment for that time, given the prevailing medical theory and limited treatment methods. &nbsp;TB is incredibly misunderstood by the general public which leads to exaggeration and/or outright misinformation about the disease process, its communicability, and its treatment even now. &nbsp;I appreciate that you tried to desensationalize the history of Waverly Hills by presenting actual facts. &nbsp;Great video.

  Thank you so much for emphasizing the actual horror and pain of places like this, the disrespect of making them side show attractions, and the difficulty of balancing the financial gain vs preservation. Absolutely fantastic!

  My mom worked at &nbsp;the geriatrics hospital. She was a cmt and the news followed her through the halls and patients rooms documenting the changes that had been made to make it better from the state report. She did state there were others that were employed that had been let go because of abuse. Mom came home terrified one day because a patient she gave medication to daily &nbsp;told her to come back do he could go to church- he never went to the chapel- he committed suicide. He was stock piling his medications by hiding them in his mouth then not swallowing. &nbsp; She found him. &nbsp;Then one time mom entered and elderly woman’s room &nbsp;and was attacked by the lady. Mom quit. She worked there for three years.

  I watched a PBS Documentary from Kentucky (I live just 30 minutes outsidw of Louisville and have visited Wavery multiple times. <br>That Documentary showed pictures of people standing with MULTIPLE ribs removed and the image still haunts me! I have looked for something like this historical account for decades. Thank you!

  I watch so many Paranormal shows that when I saw the title of this video I was eager to actually learn the real history of this location. I do watch a few paranormal groups in Youtube that actually love to get the real story rather then the fictional one. So many stories have floated around about this one that it made it hard not to want to sit still and listen intently. I love real historical documentation because that is what validates paranormal investigations to be honest. This building to be frank is also one I admire. The architecture of it is lovely work. The time period it was built had great workers for buildings. I appreciate your work to show case the actual history and documented deaths in this location, it makes all the difference to know more.

  My mom was in there.They removed half of her lungs.She had a huge long scar on her back she was only sixteen years old , she had to spend a year in there

  When we lived in Jeffersonville, Indiana, we used to go to the Waverley, Charlie and Tina Mattingly are very nice, I would love to go back once all the renovations are done. My mom had Tuberculosis she had scars on the sides of her neck from the treatments, and she wore her hair long to hide the scars, the only thing I really know is that she was 15 and lived on our reservation in the east San Diego area. I love history, the Waverly is very interesting, not the hauntings, even though in some cases it&apos;s hard to separate the two. It&apos;s true, you can be standing outside, and you can see people on the inside looking at you when you know no one is inside. I think more importantly are the nurses and the patients that were there. &nbsp;I remember reading about the horrible treatment of the geriatric patients, in Woodhaven, the state finally shut it down.
